Incredibly large Demo update
Hello!
After reading through all of you comments and feedbacks, I've made some fixes to the game!
There are some things I'm still working on, but I wanted to deliver a version that works in the meantime while I work on some bigger problems, like issues with stuttering, or more design based problems like gliding controls (I think I'll make a separate glide button? But unsure)
Here are the big changes, piped directly to your personal computer:
- The sprint is overhauled!! Tbh my number one complaint from people is the sprint feeling icy and uncontrollable, so now its got a bit more affordance to the whole thing. I still wanted to keep it unruly as a tradeoff for the speed, but now it should at least feel like you are the one in control
- A seperate glide button! Another big complaint was trying to control the camera while gliding, especially on controller. This should add a bit of ease to that situation, and also potentially unlock new tech since activating a glide doesn't consume any crystals.
- New NPC models! The previous ones were placeholder, sorry if you got attached. These guys are super cool though and in line with the theme of the world (every creature will have rings or halos I s2g)
- Added a Guard!! This is to give a bit more counterplay to missiles in air etc, and also works as a momentum stopper, for immediate brakes when dashing or plunging through the air (hopefully it can get you out of some sticky combat and platforming situations)
- Added a camera reset button, middle mouse on keyboard and right stick on controller. Always handy to have
- New Game works properly now! You can reset save files
- Orbs properly save now! You don't have to collect them all at once
- I added a tenth orb, I'm so sorry I had awful cursed game design in there accidentally, there were only 9 orbs !! It was impossible to get them all. Kinda torturous from me ngl sorry
- Camera Sensitivity settings! It's now possible to adjust the camera speed, in case you think my predetermined speeds aren't pristine
- Loading Screen animation! Cuter this time, still needs some cleaning though
- Some minor UI issues like health not updating on game reload properly etc
There are some "massive" (by my standards) changes to some controls and movement, so feedback is super appreciated! It was optimized for controller, but I have played it on keyboard and mouse and I think it feels ok but let me know (keyboard remapping is still in the works for the future but 1. it takes time cause its hard and 2. I still want the default controls to feel good since most players will use them)
